Brazil 30% / Costa Rica 30% / Colombia 20% / Ethiopia 20% KALVE created this coffee blend for the Roast Masters 2019 competition in Milan, where the challenge was to create an espresso blend that represented the specialty coffee industry while also bringing a new idea to the table. We succeeded, and this coffee was one of the reasons we returned home with a silver medal. Our idea was to use high-quality green coffee to highlight the intensity and diversity of its aromas, while using the roast profile to achieve the balance and texture familiar to coffee lovers. The result is a truly sweet, diverse, and vibrant competition-level coffee that can be enjoyed as part of everyday life.

This coffee has an espresso roast, meaning it offers a more intense flavour, richer texture and sweetness, lower acidity, and more pronounced caramelised and roasted notes. Espresso roasting also makes the coffee easier to extract, allowing its flavours to become more readily available. Although this roast profile is primarily intended for espresso machines and moka pots, it can certainly be enjoyed using other brewing methods as well, especially if you prefer a stronger, fuller flavour. We recommend enjoying espresso-roasted coffee from the second week after roasting.
